We’re pleased to bring to you a family fun event at Machaire Rabhartaigh (Magheroarty) Beach, Donegal on Sunday 20^th August.

Brought to you by Climate Action Regional Office (CARO) Atlantic Seaboard North and partners as part of the Protect Our Dunes Campaign.

This community-led, fun filled, family day-out will have something for everyone, from Seashore Safaris, to a sand castle building activity, all while learning more about our coast and how to protect it.

12:30 – 13:00             Arrival and registration

13:00 – 14:00      Family Seashore Safaris  

Join our Marine Explorers on a Family Seashore Safari. Explore all of the marine life living right on our shore, and learn about what we can do to protect them and our Dunes.

14:00 – 15:00                  Family Sand Dune Building Activity

A sand castle activity with a twist, because building a sand castle is great fun, but building a sand dune to protect it? Even better!

Build your own beautiful sand castle, then using sand and seaweed, build your own sand dune to protect your castle from the elements. A creative and fun way to learn about the importance of our sand dunes.

Prizes for strongest and best put together sand dunes. First place prize is a €75, second place €50 and third place €25 All4One Gift Cards.

 15:00 – 15:30                 Questions and Answers with our Marine Biologists

Participants will have some time to ask our Marine Explorers any questions they may have.

UPDATE: Registration time for this event will take place half an hour earlier at 12:30pm.
