Killiney Hill- Her Outdoors Leave No Trace Awareness Course With Galz Gone Wild

Leave No Trace is offering a free Certified Leave No Trace Awareness Course with Galz Gone Wild as part of HER OUTDOORS Week. This is a female only participation course.
The Certified Awareness Course runs for one day. It is designed for individuals and groups who are interested in learning more about Leave No Trace, in a hands-on stimulating outdoor learning environment.
The course takes place entirely outdoors and will share tools and techniques for disseminating low-impact skills across the Island of Ireland, and beyond.
Participants on this course receive introductory training on
- how Leave No Trace skills and ethics can help protect our environment and outdoor spaces and promote responsible, sustainable outdoor pursuits and recreation.
- the role of the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace in achieving these goals.
- the impact that sporting, recreational and leisure activities can have on our natural environment.
- how Leave No Trace skills and practices can help to mitigate and minimise those impacts.
Finally finish the day with an optional sea swim with Galz Gone Wild at the historic Vico Baths.
Note: This course is free to attend but numbers are limited and prior registration is required.
The course will take place at Killiney Hill, County Dublin on the 20th of August. This Awareness Course is taking place as part of Her Outdoors Week. HER Outdoors week aims to celebrate and encourage more females to get out and enjoy the benefits of being in the outdoors while bringing visibility to the opportunities for females to get involved in outdoor physical activity.
