Donegal Sports Partnership in collaboration with Leave No Trace Ireland have organised a forest walk, swim (Dip) and campfire at Ards Friary on Saturday 19th August from 10am to 12pm for women and girls.

The aim of this event is to provide participants with an opportunity to spend some time in the outdoors, by taking part in a forest walk and swim or a dip in the sea, while hearing about the 7 principles of Leave No Trace as they participate. The session will conclude with a campfire, in which participants will get an opportunity to toast marshmallows.

Maureen McCoy and Paul McCambridge from Leave No Trace Ireland will facilitate the session.

Schedule: (Approximately)

10am – 10.15am – Meet and greet, Introduction to Leave no Trace

10.15- 11.15am Forest Walk incorporating Leave no Trace principles

11.15am- 11.40am Sea Swim incorporating Leave no Trace Principles

11.40am- 12pm Campfire

Participants need to bring –

Suitable footwear for trails/beach walk

Waterproofs and suitable clothing for a day spent outdoors

Swimming gear and warm clothes for after – including warm hat.
