Leave No Trace Ireland Wins the #OurEUStory Award

Leave No Trace Ireland Wins the #OurEUStory Award

The #OurEUStory Awards celebrate the transformational impact that EU-funded projects have on communities and organisations across Ireland.

Open to organisations based in the Republic of Ireland, this award a clear opportunity to showcase the SEE Project that we have been working on for the past three years with our partners across Europe.

Dr. Noel Doyle, Project Co-Ordinator at Leave No Trace Ireland and our lead on the SEE Project, attended the awards on the 29th of November at the 2023 Access Europe Showcase at the Royal Dublin Society.

Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora Seán Fleming TD was in attendance to congratulate the winners and deliver the keynote speech for the Showcase.

Minister Fleming spoke about the importance of Access Europe and capitalising on EU programme opportunities, citing several examples of successful projects throughout the country. He also emphasised the positive influence of the European Union on Irish life over the last 50 years of our membership, and especially as we have transitioned from net recipients and net contributors of the EU budget.

Minister Fleming highlighted that while we still have much to learn, we also have so much to share as a country with our European neighbours and European funding is an excellent means to exchange innovation and best practice.
