Free Primary School Resources for Teachers and Parents

With schools set to stay closed for the remainder of the month, the Leave No Trace Education Team would like to remind all primary school teachers and parents of the free Leave No Trace resources available. We realise that for many parents, facing another period of homeschooling may seem daunting and we are delighted to share our educational resources available online to help keep children entertained during lockdown.

Ombudsman for Children Dr Niall Niall Muldoon said earlier this week: “Education is about more than learning, it is about developing personalities, talents, and abilities of children to reach their greatest potential while also facilitating mental health, play, and recreation.” Our free resources will encourage children to get outdoors within their 5 km limit and learn to appreciate their local environment while playing and recreating.

Leave No Trace encourage parents and teachers to avail of our activities and lesson plans to help children develop a love of the outdoors, when children spend time in the outdoors they connect with nature in a personal way. Once they love nature, they will want to protect it too, and our activites are a fun and interactive way to engage young people with nature.
