We are delighted to announce that our tender for the delivery of the Marine Explorers Education Programme for 2021 – 2023 has been successful. Each year for the next three years, our team of Explorer Education Officers will deliver over 116 school workshops including seashore safaris, ocean literacy projects and school ocean projects to 5th & 6th class students across Ireland. These workshops will involve over 3000 children in Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Limerick, Laois and Wexford. The Explorers Marine Education Programme aims to integrate marine themes into subjects already taught in national schools in Ireland. It is primarily funded by the Marine Institute Ireland.
