As we gather for this festive season, it is time to reflect on what has been a truly unique and challenging year. COVID-19 has become part of our lives, and its impacts will continue into 2021. However, there are glimmers of hope as vaccinations are beginning to be administered to essential medical staff and the most vulnerable. It has been a year of transition and adaption, the disruption brought upon us by the pandemic has caused a change in thinking and the implementation of what we do.
A silver lining of the pandemic has been the growth in the appreciation for nature and demand for access to outdoor recreation across the island of Ireland. As we look to 2021, we will need to use all we have experienced from this year and continue to work together for the sustainable development of outdoor recreation.
