Community Impact day at Knocksink Woods Nature Reserve – Restoration and Clean-up
The Knocksink Wood Nature Reserve is a fantastic space for nature to flourish and for visitors from far and wide to visit and enjoy. In recent years, visitors to this beautiful woodland have increased significantly. Unfortunately, this has led to some unexpected and unwanted impacts on this delicate ecosystem.
If you would like to visit and learn more about Knocksink while also engaging in positive restoration actions, please register your interest in attending this event. Join Leave No Trace Ireland, National Parks and Wildlife Service, PURE Project, and a host of local visitors who wish to improve and protect this unique nature reserve.
Once you have registered interest, Leave No Trace Ireland will be in contact about the activities and time slots for the day.
There will be some walking and moderately strenuous activities planned, but everyone is welcome to engage at the level they are comfortable with. We are also happy to chat with anyone who wants to learn more about Knocksink and why it’s so special.
Due to potential restrictions on gatherings and the fact that we do not wish to cause any overcrowding on-site, please note that there is a possibility that not all who register will be offered a chance to attend. The day itself may have to be postponed due to weather / Covid or other circumstances outside our control. Any changes will be communicated as soon as possible.
