Certified Awareness Course-Skerries Dublin
This 1 day Certified Course is the first step in our 3 tiered training structure, designed for educators, college students, outdoor professionals, hiking club members and others interested in Leave No Trace Ireland skills and ethics. Participants receive introductory training in the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace Ireland. Workshop topics include the underlying concept of minimum impact recreation and the seven principles of Leave No Trace.
Sample Certified Awareness Course Agenda
09.00am – 10:30am Welcome and Introductions.
• Introduction and review of the course agenda for the day
• Role and Function of Leave No Trace Ireland.
• Explain how Leave No Trace Ireland functions in terms of education, research, and memberships.
10.30am – 11.00 Seven Principles of Leave No Trace
Principle #1 Plan Ahead and Prepare
11:00am -11.15pm Coffee
Principle #2 Be Considerate of Others
Principle #3 Respect Farm Animals and Wildlife
Principle #4 Travel and Camp on Durable Ground
Lunch 1pm to 2pm Lunch.
14.00pm – 16.00pm
Principle #5 Leave What You Find
Principle #6 Dispose of Waste Properly
Principle #7 Minimise the Effects of Fire
Minimum Impact Fire demonstration (if conditions are right)
4.00pm – 4.30pm
