Ruairí is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society. He currently owns and runs Venturesafe.ie, (Ireland’s Travel Safety, First Aid, Health & Safety and Expedition Training Provider).
He has a strong interest in promoting the Leave No Trace philosophy in both the land and marine environments as a professional, a scouter and a diver.
Ruairí has had a long military background as well as being an adventure sports enthusiast with a passion for adventure, diving and the outdoors.
He is a former Chairman of the Defence Forces Council for Adventure Training, with responsibility for Diving, Parachuting, Rock Climbing & Mountaineering, Sailing and Adventure racing.
He was also the Chairman, Diving Officer and Chief Instructor in the Army Dive Group, having been a committed member for 25 years.
