Róisín O’Hara is Communications Manager with the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht since February 2019.
As part of her role, she is responsible for communications relating to the National Parks and Wildlife Service which is under the remit of that Department, and therefore has considerable experience and interest in raising public awareness of matters relating to nature conservation and biodiversity.
Róisín’s background is in broadcast journalism – she worked primarily as a news reporter and presenter for RTÉ TV/Radio and TG4 for nearly 15 years, before working as a social media consultant. She has also lectured in Journalism with Dublin City University (Fiontar) from where she her gained a primary degree in Journalism and where she is currently doing a Masters in Political Communication. She also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute.
