Maura is a graduate of Science, University College Cork. Additionally, Maura holds a Master’s Degree in Communications and a BSc in Psychology. Maura worked overseas for Enterprise Ireland, Northern European team within the Environmental sector coordinating Ministerial and Presidential Trade Missions for High Potential Start-up Irish companies in Northern Europe.

She also worked with Fáilte Ireland in assisting the development of Irelands first Coastal Blueway Kayak and Snorkel trails. Maura has been awarded for her efforts in innovation at the ‘UCC entrepreneur Awards’ as well by her volunteer efforts as “Volunteer Citizen of the year” by the President of Ireland. Maura firmly believes that maintaining positive relationships, regular exercise, a happy workspace is as important to your holistic health as the food you eat. Maura is passionate about continuous self-improvement and leading by example.

She is currently undertaking a PhD with NUIG which explores the health and well-being in the outdoors. She undertakes regular mentoring and coaching and enjoys discovering new ways that are available for optimum health and wellness. She is a Leave No Trace Advanced Trainer and also holds senior outdoor qualifications and experience in white-water kayaking, canoeing, snorkelling, power boating, sailing, life-guarding, surfing, climbing and Mountaineering. She has recently completed her first trans-Atlantic voyage from the Caribbean to the Azores. Maura currently sits on the Council for Gaisce – The President’s Award.
