John has always had a love and passion for the great outdoors. He has trained and qualified as a Level 3 mountain leader in the Gaisce programme and is also a walking leader for ‘let’s walk’. He provides guided walking trips for school age children, during which he educates them on the basic skills needed for outdoor walking trails. It provides an opportunity to teach children on observing nature, exploring forest walks, tree identification and all whilst respecting our wonderful environment. One of his biggest achievements has been walking the Camino De Santiago on 3 separate occasions. His interest in nature and natural materials has transpired into a keen bush-crafting teacher role. Going back to basics to learn the art of fire lighting, shelter building, camp fire cooking and spoon carving are amazing life skills which he teaches young and old alike.
