The Search for Ireland’s most sustainable hero or community is on!
As Ireland’s leading supplier of rural energy solutions, Calor understands that communities across the island of Ireland are fully committed to increasing their sustainability efforts, by improving the environment in which we all live and work. With this in mind, Calor has built upon the success of ‘Community Champion’, and is launching the search for the ‘Calor Sustainable Community Champion’. The new format again follows an all-island initiative, and Calor is looking for your help in the search for the ‘Calor Sustainable Community Champion 2014’.
The competition is open for entries from July 29th for members of the public to ‘nominate their local candidate or group’, The closing date for entries on September 5th. Individuals and communities across the island will be asked to lead the charge and put in place environmentally sustainable projects and initatives over the 6-week period. The final 32 local champions or groups will be chosen and presented on the competition page on September 15th. Voting open to the public until October 9th. Our panel of judges will chose from the top four as voted by the public and two ‘wildcard’ entries, with the inaugural Calor Sustainable Community Champion announced on October 17th.
The inaugural winner will receive €1,500/£1,200 and a bursary of €7,500/£6,000 to their chosen local charity or organisation. The two runners-up will each receive €500/£400. There is even €500/£400 for the person or organisation that nominated them.
They are looking for as many nominations as possible, from every corner and county of Ireland so help us to spread the word and give the unsung hero in your community the recognition they deserve.
