The IMPRINT+ Project raises young peoples awareness on their environmental impact while  spending time outside. The objective of the new programme will aim to  educate and upskill users them on how to reduce their impact within their local environment. The three year international project entitled “Imprinting an ecological compensation reasoning on society by means of young citizens – IMPRINT+” is financed by the Erasmus+ programme, from the European Union for  education, training, youth and sports. Portugal, Spain, Italy, Austria and Ireland.

Led by the University of Aveiro (UA) the project aims to examine the ecological footprint, targeting a philosophy of “leaving a positive footprint on the environment” (IMPRINT Plus). The educational aspect of the programme is led by Leave No Trace Ireland. The project will include a tutorial for green entrepreneurship, which will focus on empowerment of  young people.It will be available for any school or organisation interested in joining, in six languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, German and French. 

The second partner meeting took place in Westport on June 17th- 19th. A full suite of educational and research developments were presented as well as a pilot of the new IMPRINT+ app. The next meeting will take place in Portugal where a pilot of the programme will be rolled out in Lousada with students and communtiy groups.
