Leave No Trace Ireland are delighted to announce a new membership with the IMPRINT+ project.
The IMPRINT+ Project raises young peoples awareness on their environmental impact while spending time outside. It educates people and upskills them on how to reduce their impact their local environment. The three year international project entitled “Imprinting an ecological compensation reasoning on society by means of young citizens – IMPRINT+” is financed by the Erasmus+ programme, from the European Union for education, training, youth and sports. Portugal, Spain, Italy, Austria and Ireland are working in partnership to deliver the project over three years.
Led by the University of Aveiro (UA) the project aims to examine the ecological footprint, targeting a philosophy of “leaving a positive footprint on the environment” (IMPRINT Plus). The educational aspect of the programme will be led by Leave No Trace Ireland. The educational message will apply science based guidelines to underpin a positive educational message which will empower and upskill people to make good decisions while spending time outside.
The project will include a tutorial for green entrepreneurship, which will focus on empowerment of young people. It will be available for any school or organisation interested in joining, in six languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, German and French. The kick-off meeting has already taken place in Graz, Austria, and the first public presentation of the project took place on November 20th in Luso, Portugal.
