Join us at the ‘Leave No Trace…Dealing with Fire’ workshop on Saturday 13th November at 10.30am at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, Bryansford,Co. Down and see how we can all impact less!
This workshop will enable those attending to learn more about the Leave No Trace message and its application in relation to the issues surrounding fires in the outdoors and also to learn more about the Leave No Trace message in general and meet others that support the organisation.
The format of the day will start off with a range of presentations and discussion and debate sessions on the following topics: how land owners deal with fires on their land, how the Irish Sea Kayaking Association engage with their members on how to ‘leave no trace’ in relation to fires, how the scouts have moved away from ‘Burn, Bash and Bury’, the vulnerability of the uplands to fires and the introduction of the Safer Mournes Partnership – a partnership set up to tackle forest fires in the Mournes area. After lunch there will be outdoor demonstrations on how to apply the Leave No Trace principles to fires.
