Leave No Trace Biodiversity Training Programme Update

We have now completed four of our new Leave No Trace Biodiversity Training Programme for Tidy Town Community Groups in County Mayo. The workshops have been going very well thanks to the engagement of the groups with the programme. The participants are learning about biodiversity and how they are connected to, and dependent on biodiversity. They are using their new skills to look at improving the biodiversity of their towns and villages.

Karina Dingerkus, Ecologist, Giorria Environmental Services, who is delivering the programme said: “I have been really inspired by the commitment and enthusiasm shown by the participants in the workshops. The groups are clearly committed to making a positive contribution to biodiversity in their communities.”

The programme is funded by South West Mayo Development Company CLG through their Rural Development Programme (LEADER).
