EU-Funded Initiatives showcased in New Video Series by Leave No Trace Ireland

Leave No Trace Ireland is proud to announce the completion of its EU Impact: Communicating Sustainable Initiatives project, funded by the Communicating Europe Initiative (CEI). This impactful project brought to life the tangible benefits of EU-funded initiatives through a series of visually engaging and narrative-driven videos, highlighting how the EU fosters sustainability, collaboration, and community empowerment.

Through four news videos, the series spotlighted three transformative EU projects:

· SEE Project: (Sustainability and Environmental Education): Demonstrated the creation of a six-stage toolkit integrating environmental education into outdoor sports, inspiring sustainable practices across Europe.

· Go Green Project: Showcased efforts to empower local governments and advisors to implement the European Green Deal, fostering green governance and local climate action.

· REGENERA Project: Highlighted innovative practices revitalizing European waters through sustainable water sports, with a focus on biodiversity and shoreline health at Ireland’s Lake Keel.

Each video is designed for popular social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn and communicates complex EU policies and project outcomes into relatable, human-centered stories.

By connecting audiences to these initiatives through compelling narratives, the project emphasises the real-world impact of EU collaborations on environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Maura Kiely, CEO of Leave No Trace Ireland, commented: “This initiative allowed us to bring EU-funded projects to life in a way that resonates with people. These videos demonstrate how local actions, supported by EU initiatives, contribute to global sustainability goals. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with viewers engaging deeply with the content and gaining a greater appreciation for the EU’s role in shaping a sustainable future.”

The videos not only amplified the impact of the SEE, Go Green, and REGENERA projects but also strengthened the connection between Irish citizens and the EU by illustrating the practical benefits of EU-funded initiatives.

This project underscores the importance of collaboration, innovation, and collective action in addressing pressing environmental challenges. As part of Leave No Trace Ireland’s commitment to promoting responsible outdoor practices, the EU Impact project highlights the transformative power of EU partnerships in creating a sustainable future for communities across Europe.
