Empowering Education – Eithne Larkin

Words of acknowledgement for Eithne Larkin, Training Administrator, on leaving Leave No Trace Ireland

Since joining Leave No Trace Ireland in 2017 as our first full time employee apart from the CEO , Eithne Larkin has played a hugely important and significant role in our growth and success.

Her commitment, enthusiasm, and professionalism in her role as Training Administrator have been pivotal in the development of Leave No Trace Ireland to date. Eithne brought her knowledge and insight to developing our award-winning training network and expanding our training and educational programmes across schools, communities, and the corporate sector.

With an eye to the wider EU context of our work and mission, Eithne managed many of our successful EU projects and always combined the hard work and commitment needed to negotiate and deliver these projects with her good humour and sense of fun.

She always had an eye to the rest of the Leave No Trace team and innovated the team health and wellbeing programme for which we all owe her a debt of gratitude. Underlying all her commitment and hard work is Eithne’s passionate belief in the power of education to change behaviour, and the impact that individual actions can have on the greater good. These motivations, together with her interest in and concern for the environment, have been an enormous asset to Leave No Trace Ireland on our journey since she joined us in 2017, and it will be a challenge to replace Eithne in the important role she has played with us.

As Leave No Trace Ireland has continued to grow, the core philosophy of our work is of course, to leave no trace. However, we know that Eithne has left a huge impact on the organisation in invaluable ways. We wish her the very best in her next career move, and look forward to keeping in touch with her as a valued friend.
