Leave No Trace Network Meeting 2014 – Dogs in the Outdoors
Leave No Trace Ireland will be holding its network meeting and AGM on Friday May 16th 2014, at Kippure Estate, Manor Kilbride, Blessington, Co Wicklow.
The network meeting provides an excellent opportunity to connect with other people with an interest in encouraging responsible enjoyment of Ireland’s natural environment.
The theme for this years event is “Dogs in the Outdoors”. Dog control has become a major issue for many due to the increase in outdoor recreation in Ireland. The problem is not limited to walker’s dogs as damage is often caused by local dogs which stray from neighbouring properties to beaches, parks and populated recreational areas. Leave No Trace Ireland aims to raise awareness, educate and inspire positive behaviour and work towards practical solutions to reduce the negative impacts of dogs in the outdoors. The network meeting programme includes a panel of interesting speakers who will share their personal stories, experiences and challenges with dogs in the outdoors in Ireland. A detailed programme is attached.
Leave No Trace Ireland would encourage all those interested in protecting Ireland’s natural environment to attend. All official partners representing Leave No Trace are invited to attend the network meeting and also nominate, or vote on any matter at the AGM.
Leave No Trace Ireland promise the network meeting will be an enjoyable and stimulating day, and we look forward to seeing you in Wicklow.
