Corporate Volunteering- Google staff help local community

Companies have enormous potential with Leave No Trace Ireland to help protect the environment and create a positive impact on our landscape. Leave No Trace Ireland raises awareness with employees around protecting our environment and responsible outdoor recreation. The Corporate Volunteering Programme is a great opportunity to make a tangible and immediate improvement to the outdoor environment. It is also a fantastic team building and personal development opportunity for employees outside of the normal working environment and makes a practical positive impact on the environment.

This week members of staff from Google joined our trainer and the local voluntary group Dooder Valley Litter Mugs to do a clean up of the Dodder Park area. they all worked hard and made an immediate impact which was greatly appreciated and welcomed by the local community and residents.

 The activity involved:

  • Taking part in a clean-up of an environment that had been impacted by human behaviour.
  • Learning about outdoor ethics and educating employees about protecting the environment
  • Connecting employees with nature and learning about sustainability.
  • Education around biodiversity in the local area.

Participants were encouraged to personally commit to making one change in their workplace on their return. If you are interested in getting involved in one of our Corporate projects, email: [email protected]
