2022 Training Programme starts with opportunities in Northern Ireland

We are delighted to offer Certified Awareness Training Courses and a 2 day Trainer Course in Tollymore Co. Down in the coming weeks.

The Certified Awareness Course on January 25th comprises six hours of training and can be easily adapted for specific audiences, environments, or recreational needs. The one-day course is ideally suited to outdoor educators, teachers, college students, outdoor pursuit and recreation professionals, hiking club members, Tidy Towns Committees, community groups or anyone with an interest in learning more about Leave No Trace vision and skills.

The Leave No Trace Trainer Course is a two-day course taking place on February 10th & 11th. This course assists participants in learning more about the seven principles of Leave No Trace Ireland, and techniques for disseminating these low impact skills to others. Trainer Courses are designed for educators, guides, agency employees and other outdoor professionals & volunteers.

Participants learn the concept of Leave No Trace and prepare to teach Leave No Trace curriculum in a variety of settings – such as schools, camps, parks, wilderness areas.

Workshop topics include the underlying ethics and seven principles of Leave No Trace. Participants will be certified as Leave No Trace Ireland Trainers upon successful completion of the course, and will be able to deliver certified Leave No Trace Awareness courses following registration as an Accredited Trainer.

Participants must have completed the Leave No Trace Awareness Course before they can sign up and partake in the Trainer Course.
