Fundamental to the success of Leave No Trace Ireland are its training activities. Leave No Trace skills and ethics are essential to learn, as they will ensure that the seven principles become second nature when you are out and about on your activity, be it walking your dog, fishing, hiking, biking or visiting your local park.
There are three different levels of courses. The Master Educator course is the highest level of training. At this level, the participants having successfully completed the course, are qualified to run other Master Educator courses. Additionally, these Master Educators are trained to teach the next level of course, the Trainer Course, to participants who then become Leave No Trace Trainers. Both Master Educators and Leave No Trace Trainers are in turn able to conduct basic training, the last level, called Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops, or Sessions. These are designed for the general public, and largely consist of awareness and information about Leave No Trace. In Ireland, we currently run Leave No Trace Trainer Courses and Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops/Sessions. For more information, please contact Jane Helps, the Leave No Trace Ireland Co-ordinator.
