New Constitution for Leave No Trace Ireland

To all Members of Leave No Trace Ireland ,

The Extraordinary General Meeting for Leave No Trace Ireland was held (today) on 17th of January 2017 in The Irish Museum of Modern Art. There was an excellent turnout of members for the event.  A new Constitution was adopted for Leave No Trace Ireland to bring the company into line with recent changes in company law. Due to these changes in company law, the Memorandum and Articles of Association have been updated. Copies of the new Articles are available by emailing

Leave No Trace Ireland Constitution

Our previous Memorandum and Articles of Association contained a lot of content, additional to company law requirements, which regulated the running of the organisation e.g. notice of meetings, roles of board members etc. and the opportunity was taken to do a complete revamp and modernisation of this for incorporation into a new set of articles for the organisation and its members. These were also adopted at the EGM and came into effect on January 17th, 2017.

The new Constitution and Rules form part of our commitment to bring Leave No Trace Ireland’s governance in line with the Code of Governance (A Code of Practice for Good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable Organisations in Ireland). A full audit and updating of all of our policies and procedures is underway and is planned to be completed shortly by the Board as outlined in our Strategic Plan, “The Outdoors is Yours, Protect it!”
