New Caving Skills and Ethics Booklet

Leave No Trace Ireland in conjunction with the Speleological Union of Ireland (SUI) have recently produced a new Caving Skills and Ethics Booklet.

The impact of cavers on cave environments grows proportionally to the increase in numbers of people seeking adventure underground and as caves generally do not recover from human impact it is imperative that cavers learn ways to move through caves leaving the smallest possible impact. Towards this goal, caving-specific techniques are incorporated into the manual. These techniques have been developed through the collaborative efforts of cavers, land managers and the national Leave No Trace education programme.

Cavers wishing to obtain a copy, can do so by requesting it from either the SUI ( ) or from Leave No Trace Ireland ( ).
