Google Ireland Volunteers make an impact with Killinarden Angling Initiative

Volunteers from Google joined Leave No Trace to assist the Killinarden Angling Initiative in a Clean-Up in Ballymount and of the lake they use for the angling initiative. The initiative was set up to promote, develop and improve angling in the greater South Dublin and surrounding areas. The input from the staff from Google was particularly helpful creating a more enjoyable environment for the users to enjoy. The staff learned about the ethics and principles of Leave No Trace and all committed to making small changes in their personal and working lives that will help them to ‘leave no trace’. As the Google staff were learning about the work of KAI, a young person fishing in the lake caught a Yellow-Bellied Slider Turtle- perhaps who started off life as a pet. The volunteers returned the turtle to his home in the lake as most likely he has been living there for some time. Thanks to Patrick Ryan from KAI for sharing the story of KAI.

To date this year over, over 250 staff from various businesses have joined with Leave No Trace Facilitators to take part in a CSR day. the voluntary effort by these groups has been greatly appreciated by the various community groups where they have made an impact.

If you would like to take part in a CSR day with Leave No trace email for details on you and your company can get involved.
