Gas Networks Ireland work to protect the environment with Leave No Trace

On a sunny September day, the  HSQE team from Gas Networks Ireland participated in a Leave No Trace Ireland beach-clean at Skerries. A fitting location, situated close to Loughshinny AGI, where their first Gas Interconnector to the UK came ashore 25 years ago. The main objectives of the day were to understand motivations for conservation in the outdoors for the individual and community and understand the potential environmental costs of increased recreational activity outdoors – impacts on sensitive environments. Participants engaged in awareness, education, and understanding of the concept and principles of Leave No Trace.

The Leave No Trace Ireland Corporate Volunteering Programme is a great way for companies to make an immediate and tangible difference to our environment as well as helping in local communities.
