Donegal Leave No Trace Training (Bluestack Centre)

For those that enjoy the Donegal countryside, have you ever stopped to consider how best to protect it?

Our upcoming Leave No Trace Training courses in Donegal enable individuals and groups to learn more about Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics enabling them to protect, preserve and enhance Donegal’s upland, coastal and inland environments through responsible outdoor recreation.

We all have a shared responsibility to look after our environment. From the mountains, to the sea – and everywhere in between, we care for the Irish countryside, and hope that you do too.

Courses are available to individuals or groups with an interest, or involvement, in:

  • Walking and hiking
  • On and off-road cycling
  • Watersports
  • Community Groups
  • Outdoor Festivals and Events

Key learnings from the course:

  • Why should you 'Leave No Trace'
  • The Seven Principles of Leave No Trace - how you can apply them when out and about
  • Biodiversity - understanding of the Donegal landscape and habitats and how to protect them
  • Understand the personal responsibility and choice based approach of Leave No Trace
  • Discover that you have both the personal responsibility and capacity to choose your behaviour when recreating outdoors in Donegal.
  • Learn how you can make a difference when enjoying outdoor recreation in Donegal

Trainer Profile
Courses will be facilitated by accredited Leave No Trace Ireland Trainers, in an engaging and enjoyable format.

Course Details
This course will take place on (evening) Friday 31st January & (daytime) Saturday 1st February 2020. 
Venue: Bluestack Centre
Various course dates are available from January through to March.
Light refreshments will be provided, participants are advised to bring their own lunch (we recommend you try and make it a zero waste lunch).

Who Should Attend:
This course is funded by LEADER through the Donegal LCDC and implemented by Donegal Local Development Company CLG (DLDC) and is only available to those who reside in this catchment area (see booking form for details).
